Pocket Sudoku 🧩

One-liner: A fast, clean Sudoku game for iPhone — generator guarantees a unique solution at 3 difficulty levels, tap-to-play board with conflict highlighting, installable to the home screen and playable offline.

Origin: Requested as “build a mobile sudoku game for iPhone.” Native SwiftUI was ruled out for this first build — the dev machine only has Xcode Command Line Tools, not full Xcode, and there’s no confirmed Apple Developer account for device testing or distribution. A PWA gets a real, playable game running now, installs to the iPhone home screen, and matches the existing CourtIQ precedent in this portfolio.

Stack: Plain HTML/CSS/JS, no framework or build step. Backtracking generator/solver with a uniqueness check, node:test for core-logic tests, Playwright/Chromium for e2e play-through verification (iPhone-viewport emulation — no WebKit engine available in this environment, so real Safari rendering wasn’t exercised). Manifest + service worker for offline installability.

Status: Active — playable prototype built and pushed to runquest/pocket-sudoku (private). Real iPhone home-screen install and offline behavior still need manual confirmation on an actual device.
